Terms of use
Last updated 29 September 2026
Better Together introduces you to friends of friends, through people who know you both. It only works if everyone in it is who they say they are and treats each other well. We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour, and we remove people who break the rules below.
Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using Better Together (the app and beto.date), you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use it. "We" and "us" means Better Together.
Who can join
- You must be at least 18.
- One account per person, signed in with a phone number that is yours.
- You must not have been removed from Better Together before.
- You must be allowed to use it under the laws that apply to you.
A test version
Better Together is in a closed test. Features will change, some will break, and the service may be unavailable at times. We may end the test, or your access to it, at any time.
Your account
Keep your profile truthful and current: your own name, your real age, and photos of you. You're responsible for what happens on your account, so keep your phone and your sign-in codes to yourself. Tell us at support@beto.date if you think someone else has used it.
The rules
Don't use Better Together to:
- harass, threaten, bully, stalk or intimidate anyone, on the app or off it;
- post nudity, sexual content, violence, hate, or anything illegal;
- involve anyone under 18 in any way;
- pretend to be someone else, or use a fake or someone else's photos;
- scam, spam, sell, recruit, advertise, or ask anyone for money;
- share someone's private information, or screenshots of their messages, without their permission;
- keep contacting someone who has passed, declined, or blocked you through another account or route;
- scrape, copy, or collect other members' data, or interfere with the service or its security.
Being a wingman
Only suggest people you actually know, and write what you honestly believe about them. A note you write is seen by the person it's for. Never suggest someone to settle a score or as a joke.
What you post
You own your photos, prompts, notes and messages. You give us permission to store, copy and show them to the people they're meant for, only to run Better Together; that permission ends when you delete them or your account, except for copies other members already have, such as messages in a shared chat. Only post what you have the right to share.
Reporting and blocking
You can report or block anyone from their profile. Blocking takes effect immediately and the other person isn't told. We read every report and act on it — usually within 24 hours during the test — which can mean removing content or removing the member who posted it.
Our part
We may remove content, limit an account, or close it if we believe it breaks these terms, puts someone at risk, or exposes us to legal liability. Where it's safe to, we'll tell you why.
Meeting people
Every introduction comes through a friend of a friend, but that isn't a background check: we don't verify identities beyond your phone number, or screen members' histories. Take care when you meet someone — meet in public, tell a friend where you're going, and leave if you feel unsafe. In an emergency in Singapore, call 999.
Leaving
You can delete your account from the app at any time. These terms stop applying then, except the parts that by their nature should continue, such as what you agreed about content you posted and the limits of our liability.
No guarantees
Better Together is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise that you'll meet anyone, that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that other members are who they say they are.
Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for how other members behave on or off the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Changes
We'll update these terms as Better Together changes, and tell you in the app if a change is significant. Continuing to use it after that means you accept the new terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore decide any dispute about them.
